My first experience with Print Explosion Deluxe goes back to the early days of OS X. In 2001, I purchased Print Explosion Deluxe 1, which was one of the very few OS X-native Mac programs out so soon after the introduction of the new operating system. I am not surprised then, that Print Explosion Deluxe is one of the first major Mac apps to debut as Intel-native, or Universal Binary as it is called, meaning it runs on both the newest Intel Macs as well as older Macs, in fact, all the way back to any G3 with at least 512MB of RAM and 10.2 or higher. Kudos to the developers of Print Explosion Deluxe for being on the cutting edge, and keeping up with the latest developments in the Mac world.
I have to admit that I’d lost touch with Print Explosion Deluxe over the last couple years. I knew I would be in for a treat.
The graphical interface in Print Explosion Deluxe 3 is pure OS X goodness, sporting aqua and brushed metal appearances, each where appropriate. Icons are all smoothly designed and give the program a friendly face.
Print Explosion Deluxe offers users over 13,000 premade templates, and of course, millions of ways to customize those. Within ten minutes of launching Print Explosion I had designed and printed two greeting cards: a thank you card for our neighbors who gave us a baby gift, and a birthday card for my mother-in-law.
