When I came across Remote Buddy while surfing, I immediately thought I needed to give this application a try. Why you ask, because it offered to allow me to use my iPod Touch to remotely control applications on my Mac. I have been using Salling Clicker on my Palm PDA but the battery doesn’t last very long and I like the idea of the widescreen format that the Touch offers. Current Salling Clicker does not support the Touch. I’ll let you know how my experience with the Touch went later in the review.

Remote Buddy turns the Apple remote that comes with all Macs these days in to a powerful presentation tool, remote iTunes control and a TV remote. Now you have the couch surf with your Mac. This is a simplification of what remote Buddy can do for a Mac user. The number of supported applications is long and if it is not in this long list , you can add your desired application. Remote Buddy controls the applications through what are called behaviors. Very simply, the behaviors instruct the application how to act when a key is pressed on the remote. The first application that came to mind was Keynote. Being able to control the application without having to be at the computer allows the presenter flexibility to deliver a quality presentation.
